Welcome to your underworld shift

A bad decision has landed you a job at Imperative Solutions, a contracting company in the underworld. The Devils In The Details turns that premise into a comedy dating sim: you have work to finish, coworkers to meet, and Halloween night to look forward to. The office may be in hell, but the everyday problem is familiar: finding room for a social life when the paperwork keeps coming.

Over two in-game days, conversations introduce three romance interests. Cecil, Rowan, and Kronos each bring a different energy to the workplace, and your time with them provides the heart of the story. There is room for banter and flirtation alongside the routine of a shift. The tone is playful, with mild swearing, alcohol, and suggestive jokes.

Read, chat, and make time for work

Start The Devils In The Details in the player above, then advance the dialogue and follow the choices presented on screen. Office scenes alternate with a messenger interface where colleagues exchange messages. Read their replies and take your time deciding how you want to respond. You can select pronouns for your character, and the settings include a Spanish option whose translation is incomplete in this build.

The interface includes save, load, back, auto, and skip controls. Saving before a choice gives you a convenient place to return if you want to explore a different conversation. If the browser does not respond to a click, first click inside the game frame to give it focus. Headphones or a comfortable speaker volume make the music and sound effects easier to enjoy.

Sorting contracts

This job also has an actual task. In The Devils In The Details, the paper-sorting minigame presents a stack of contracts, an approval side, a denial side, and a visible clock. Read the instructions in the game and pay attention to each document as you work through the stack. The activity changes the pace from reading conversations to dealing with the company’s workload.

Give yourself a moment to understand the sorting screen before rushing. The contrasting trays make the two destinations easy to distinguish, and the timer helps you see how much time remains. If you want a relaxed first visit, use the story scenes to learn who is who before worrying about trying every possible path.

Romance and replaying

The release features three illustrated ending scenes. The Devils In The Details invites you to spend time with its different coworkers and revisit the story to see more of those conclusions. Use separate save slots around decisions so that exploring another route does not require repeating every earlier line. The skip control can help move through text you have already read.

The combination of cheerful character art, office messenger exchanges, and a very unglamorous pile of contracts gives the setting its own personality. Players looking for more character-focused stories can also visit Only One Bed at the Inn and Dawn Chorus. Those stories offer different settings, while keeping the focus on conversations and relationships.

Before you begin

The game is a comedy rather than a frightening horror story. Expect mild language, drinking, and suggestive humor. Play on a desktop or laptop for a comfortable view of the messages and paper text; on smaller screens, fullscreen can make the interface easier to read. Browser saves depend on local site data, so keep that data if you want to return to your progress.
